Jack WANTS to wear "big boy underwears" like his friends but is still peeing & pooping on the floor.    I'm letting him run around nakey-butt and asking him every 15 seconds if he has to go....any other suggestions?

Nothing really constructive to add--just that potty training takes LOTS, HEAPS, and TONS of patience. Especially a boy who doesn't want it. Just be consistant.

How old is Jack now? Liam started potty training when he was just over a year (his choice--he wanted to go on the potty), but it took until he was just over 2 years old till he was completely potty trained. Even then, sometimes he would have occasional accidents mostly at night until he was 4 years old--especially when he he was experiencing big stress (like when his dad was deployed, after a hurricane, etc).

Oh and he's 2.5 he's been occasionally asking to go since he was 18 months but nothing consistent. And I'm tired of him telling me that he's pooping and then when i ask if he wants to sit on the potty he says "no i poop in my diaper"

You could put the underwear on the outside of the diaper. My second child potty trained late as far as the books said. My Dr. said to watch for sign of being ready. How often does your child go? You should have a least 1 hour between wettings in order for you child bladder to be ready. Does your child know where things go? For example does he understand where to put toys, dishes, and item around the house? Does he understand wet and dry? Does he go somewhere private to poop? If you answer yest to these question he may be ready. If you answer no, you might just have a potty chair handy, and start reading potty books to him. Dr. Sears has a potty check list that is helpful.

He was always the baby that could care less if you changed his diaper or not.  Even still....he'd walk around with poop in his diaper for days if I'd let him...as long as the diaper didnt fall off. 

he goes *all the time*--I could change a diaper and with in minutes he'd be wet again.  but i think the big thing is he KNOWS when he's going cause he'll tell me.  he's an extremely vocal kid and pretty smart, knows where things go and puts them up.  he's the kid that asks his dad if hes got his seatbelt on in the car.

my wonderful dd olivia just turned 2 she was fully pt at 13 mos and then when my belly started to show that mommy was going to have another she went back to dipes she love going to the potty but will not give up the dipes now thats her sister is here and she is the baby of the house and olivia is not im at a loss the other night she took off her dipe and got on my bed and went pee on my pillow hows that for anger tward mommy

Your guy sounds exactly like my son. His bladder just was not ready until he was 3 1/2. I was so embarrassed to let anyone know he wasn't potty trained yet. He is and was smart, he knew where thing were suppost to go, but had a really hard time with the poop.

Will he wear the underwear on the outside of his diaper?

Yeah, for now the underwear is going on outside the diaper.  I'm still letting him run around in the a.m. for an hour or so w/out diaper or underoos and seeing how that is going but today he was in the kitchen and just peed and peed and peed...I really dont know know how he peed that much!  LOL

Do you use cloth or disposible diapers? I have been wondering if my #3 will potty train easier because he is in cloth? Many of my diapers have fleece on them to keep baby dry. I have been thinking about getting bumkins for potty training so he will feel the wettness more. I am thinking about what you said. You son doesn't care if he is wet. Every child is so different, it is hard to project what will happen. #3 does tell me sometimes when he needs a diaper change. I keep telling myself that is a good sign and he will train faster than #2.

I do disposable dipe.  We are slowly working on it.  He told us 5 times today IN TIME that he needed to go.  It's a start.  with the underwear on over the diaper it avoided the mess but he feels like a big boy.
