I don't have any wraps and I am VERY interested in getting one!   There are just so many to choose from!   I have a 10 mo (24 lbs) and I plan on having more babies, I want one that is going to work with a wide range of sized children (since I also have a 2 year old).  Is there one that works for all sizes?  I would also like to keep the cost down a little.  Thanks for your input!!!

Well, I think with an older/heavier baby you would definitely want a woven over a stretchy wrap. My son was about 24p at a year and is 27 pounds now at 17 months. I love my didy(s) and have loved my storch(es). I also had success with an Ellaroo wrap, but did find that I needed to take greater care in spreading things 'just so', otherwise I'd end up with pressure point soreness.

When you choose a size, you need to take into consideration your body size and what carries you want to do. For example, a wrap front cross carry takes a lot of fabric. A rucksack back carry takes a lot less. I use 4.7m sized wraps and can do everything I want to do. Some of my carries will have longer tails, others not so much.

The Ellaroo is the most economical. And look into the Gypsy Mama BaliBaby batik wovens. Those are really nice.

I agree with Amy. Go with a woven. An ellaroo is a good place to start, but at 24 lbs you will have pressure points. The storch and didys have the daigonal weave stretch so they don't have pressure points. They don't have horizontal and vertical stretch so you have the maximum support with out pressure points. I say do it right from the start, you really will be more comfortable and have more success in your wrapping. You should come to our NINO meeting on Mon. Jan. 24th. It is part 2 of wraps. There will be many wraps for you to try on.

I have a 10mo 25 lbs baby, and a woven wrap is THE ONLY carrier I can have him in forlonger than 2 hours comfortably! ATB sells some great woven wraps that would work great for your baby as well as newborns, but my personal favorite is the Didymos. I had DS in a Didymos for 4 hours when we hiked yesterday and I had NO pain at all!!
