Hi i'm new here but need advice, we co sleep with our 2 month old  which i love and don't really care to change but having trouble getting her to nap on her own.She has a crib in her brother's room and a cradle in our room.I would like her to nap without me since i'm also busy with a 22 month old.

Could you wear your DD in a carrier then transition her to her crib, cradle, or her own bed while she naps or maybe lay her on your bed while nursing her to sleep and allowing her to finish her nap on your bed as you go about taking care of DS?

We have our ds sleep in our bed as well for naps. We put the mattress on the floor, so if he rolled off it was only about 6 inches and not a few feet.

Our family bed is upstairs and we also have the mattress on the floor. We used to use the Humanity Bed, but now that she can crawl off the bed, it's easier just to have the mattress on the floor.

But since it's upstairs and we returned our room monitor since we decided to co-sleep, for day naps she was sleeping in a carrier. My mom just got her a small inflatable bed for Christmas which she just LOVES. It worked great all throughout the holidays, although my baby sleeps very well even in a crowded room... I have the bed placed in whichever room we happen to be in and she gets her naps in now quite easily. :)

An inflatable bed sounds like a great idea-- I would be afraid DS would think it was a game and never sleep!!! Angela-I would love to hear how you get her to sleep on her new bed! Does she just go right down? Does she toddle on it a bit before passing out? Where did your MIL get it-- is sounds so wonderful-- we use one of those kiddy fold out couches for laying around on the floor-- BUT DS never falls asleep on it hehehe

It is so nice to hear I am not the only person who has dropped their bed to the floor for their toddler!

target and walmart both have great kids inflatable bed they are about 30 bucks might be less now after the holidays but they are great my 2 yr old loves hers for nap time its princess cinderella the had bratz and spiderman and spongbob  sams club also has them

Hi-  I am new too, but I will tell you what worked for us.  I would either have my baby sleep on me  ( in some kind of carrier), or I would put a blanket on the floor, nurse him as usual and transfer him to the floor with me close to him so if he woke up during the transfer I  could nurse him lying down and he would gradually fall back to sleep, now at 10 mo, he easily transfers to a crib after he is asleep (side sleeper is out now that he stands up).  I always liked my baby in the same room we were playing in or at least the same area.  Now as for your toddler...I put pillows around the baby and kinda made a rule that she couldn't go near the pillows .  Well, good luck and keep us posted.   Anne 

When Braeden was younger, he always napped in a carrier. Now that he's older, he'll either sleep in a wrap as I putter around or I'll lie him down on the floor in the living room on a blanket. That works great as long as my 4yo is not jumping around (which always wakes him up). :)

We had the same problem with our dd. She wouldn't sleep unless she was latched on to my boob. It took me forever just to sneak away from her and 10 minutes later she'd be screaming. Sometimes it would work to lean her on a blanket that we slept with to kind of trick her into thinking I was still there. I also think sometimes she would have that falling sensation and waking up alone would just scare her.

I ended up wearing her a lot, but sometimes you just need a break so when she'd fall asleep we'd put her in bed in the evenings before we were ready to go to bed.
