Hi All,

I always come to this site when I want to see pictures of particular slings.  I lose track of time looking at all of the beautiful pictures of all you Mamas wearing your little ones in your baby carriers.

I just did a search and didn't find any pictures of  a particular sling I have been researching called the Dreambird Sling.  They are quite beautiful and I am dying to see some IRL pictures of one of them in use!

Does anyone have this sling? If so - what do you think - and lets see some pics!

I have one (ok-2). I love ours! If you want a slightly padded sling than this is a great one to have! If you do get on and don't like you could sell it in a flash!

I would like to try one of them, they look so beautiful. Also I have to get one of the up and coming slings from Soul baby, she's got that blog up and her sling colors look so beautiful.

I've been eyeing these, too!

One of the mammas in our playgroup ordered one, so hopefully I'll be seeing one IRL in the next few weeks!

Yes, I got one. I love it. If you are looking for a padded sling this one is really nice. The fabric is nice and soft, the sewing very professional, and the colors are gorgeous. I'm not a big padded sling fan, but I like this one a lot. And will be nice with a newborn.

I will try to get a pic. I have the Italian Plum. But, I have to wait until the weekday since DH doesn't know I got it yet, lol

Thanks for the input everyone.  Now - I am new to ring slings - I have strictly been a pouch/mei tai mama.  In your opinion, what would be better for a 1year old (23 lbs) - a padded RS or unpadded?  I heard that the padded are better for newborns and don't know if it would work for DS.

But sometimes he feels SO HEAVY. So I am thinking that shoulder padding may help - or would it get in the way?

My DS is almost 23 lbs (between 20-23) and honestly I like the padded rails with him-- I will like it even better in the fall-- it is just too hot right now for any type of sling. BUT I tried to wear my dreambird today-- in the house in the A/C and DS cuddled right in! I hated to take it off but he wanted down after a couple of minutes :(

The shoulder padding does help-- it feels like it isn't there because there isn't any bulk to it, KWIM? Yet makes the sling incredibly comfy!

Having both types of slings may be a better choice-- you can pack a unpadded sling easier than a padded but IMO if I  were going to wear DS for any length of time in a sling I would reach for my dreambird. It is totally dreamy!!  HTH

Thanks Cooper - that does help!  I just ordereda  SBP sling which should be here any day - my first official ring sling.  I went with the twill though.  I figured I need to try that out before I move on to one of her silks.

So that is one RS - unpadded.  I will probably order a Dreambird too - so I will have both padded and unpadded to try out for different wearing situations.

I honestly think Jan's silks are easier to move through the rings than twill, Just IMO :) But whatever fabric type you end up with her slings are awesome and a great beginner sling! I wish you were close than you could try mine

Terri - Please post pics when you can.  I am dying here!  It is so hard to make a decision.  Iris just sent me some pictures of some fabric options for the trim - and now it is even harder to decide.  It's all so pretty.

It's either going to be the Italian Plum, the Warm Curry, or the Avalon Green for me.(If only I could order all three...I'd be in heaven...

Lois - please post your impression of the DB sling when/if you see at your playgroup.

I would go ahead and email her again.  I emailed her last Saturday - probably around 7:00pm and I got a response within 2 hours - very quick IMO.  She said she would email me pics of different fabrics not listed on her site on Monday - but I just got the pics tonight (Thursday). She is probably just super busy.

Hi!

Sorry I haven't posted pics yet. I actually had to send mine back because I wanted a longer tail. So, Iris is so nice! She said no problem and is making me a custom DB sling with a longer tail, no charge. I should get it back next week.

I love the Italian Plum. It is really pretty and pics will not get how nice it looks in detail. The red and purple threads woven together to create the plum color is really gorgeous, imo.

I would suggest asking for a sling that measure 78" instead of the normal 74" if you like a longer tail. Which I do! :-).

Definitely email her again. The first time I emailed her it got lost and never got a response. Then I called her and we had a great chat. She is very sweet and is very easy to work with.
