I'm sooo excited....I have 3 new wraps coming

a moss gypsymama hemp silk wrap

a simon didymos

and a vicky storchenwiege

I also got a video on how to wear wraps....it's gonna be so much fun!

I want to do some comparisons.  I already have a girasol, a gypsymama gauze, a hotslings wrap, , a homemade crinkle cotton wrap, and a moby.

Congratulations on your new wraps!

I am new here and new in the "sling world" as well. I have so many questions...

May I...?

How did you buy the didymos? I did not know you can get one in USA. I am trying to decide between EllaRoo Wraparound and Storchenwiege - these are basically the only two I found that look like a big scarf. Are wraps made only for long walks? - can they be used at home - while cooking and other?

What video did you buy? I am also looking for a dvd on how to wear wraps, but I need the one that would show how to use wraps with little-babies (my is 7 weeks).

I would really appreciate any advice you can give me. I read messages on this forum and in many of them English seems even more foreign to me - I can not understand most of the abbreviations :(. Is there list with explanations of them somewhere?

You can definitely buy a Didymos in the US! The best place to buy them is www.childrensneeds.com - they also have a great instructional DVD. This does show lots of ways to use with a newborn. Storchenwieges are similar to Didymos, while Ellaroos are quite a bit thinner. I would recommend a Didy with a newborn, as they are the softest. And, no, wraps are not only for long walks, you can use them around the house and any time. I would recommend visiting www.thebabywearer.com for a list of common board abbreviations, as well as lots more info on wraps.

Thanks! I have ordered Storch and DVD on Thursday last week and expecting it to come tomorrow. I hope that Storch would also be okay with 2 month old. I did wisit thebabywearer.com - this is how I found who to buy the sling from - I basically just picked someone with phone number and good recommendations. It will be very good if I will learn how to use my wrap around the house!

I am getting a small business loan soon just so I can carry all the Didymos colors (or most of them) and sizes! I hope to get them in August. Seeing all those gorgeous pictures have prompted me to act quicker on getting those gorgeous German wraps in the store.

I also hope you buy your Storch's through AttachedtoBaby.com!!! I just invested in 50 Storchs and while they're selling fast, I would hope you think of ATB when recommending Storchs. :)

Haakadoodle (Beth) is helping me sell them locally, she is just awesome with selling them. She is helping me write up more info on them to help them move through the store quicker.

I'll be carrying that DVD soon, but they first want to make a more 'professional' one before they sell it to distributors like me. Otherwise, maybe Beth and I could make our own!

How are you loving your GM Hemp Silk wrap? I'm curious. Is it as comfy as your german wraps and is it warm, cool, too hot? Does it feel like silk or more like a cotton knit? Is it stretchy or more like a woven. How is it when wrapping? It is so pretty!
