    Do you use CD exclusively?

I'm thinking of using CDs when ds#2 is at home- when I'm at work, he's in daycare and the center only uses disposables.  Those of you who CD- do you use only CDs? Both CDs and disposables? When? Why?

Please excuse the ignorance.  Even thinking about this is very intimidating- LOL.  I'm posting here b/c it's less scary than the big CD boards, ha ha ha.

    Big Smile [:D]TIA!

I CD during the week. But DH is not very CD.. so we use sposies during the weekend when he is home. It works for us... Also Rebecca still wears Sposies most nights to sleep...

It is totally your call and how you want to do it.

We've used CDs exclusively from when Satori was born. We tried sposies a few times because some were sent home from the hospital and I think we went for a Yosemite park trip with sposies.

Our daycare that we started using a few months ago has agreed to use our cloth diapers so we're very lucky to continue CDing full-time!

Re: Do you use CD exclusively?

I just made the switch from sposies to CD and so far I've used CD exclusively. My daycare lady is not only willing to use them, but if he has a messy one she washes it too! It's  a little difficult though if you are gone all day to lug around 7+ diapers and inserts and then have 7+ dirty/wet ones with you hours later so I just got those disposable diaper bags that are really cheap and I stick them in that and it keeps the stinky part to a minimum. It really is soooo much cheaper. My DH doesn't care for changing diapers, ANY diaper, so since I do all the diaper changing, he is indifferent to CD. As long as he never has to wash them!

Re: Do you use CD exclusively?

We use cloth diapers. I do have an emergency stash of disposables for Hurricane season. We typically bring our cloth diapers when we travel or go camping. My two youngest aren't in day care so I dont' have that issue. When my oldest was a baby and started day care at 1 year of age, her day care required disposable and so she used cloth at home and disposables at day care.

Do what feels best for you. It is intimidatng and overwhelming once you decide to use cloth because, like slings, there are so many options available and what works for one person might not be the best for another. Good luck in deciding what to use.

I have been CD'ing for about 6 months now, I started out as a PT CD'er then I liked it so much I went to mostly FT but we have disposables on hand "just in case" for anyone who doesn't want to use the CDs (ironically the grandparents who ALL used CDs on us!) or when Brady is on meds that cause stinky/messy dirty diapers!  We try to use CDs as much as possible.  I think it depends on whatever works best for you.  Good luck and happy diapering!!!

I use CD when we're at home (which is 95% of the time) and use disposables when we're out, or for travel.  I'm a heavy duty diaper bag overpacker, so I'd rather not carry CD around too, used or unused.

We still use disposables at night...a little afraid to have a CD leak in my bed.  On the nights that I work DH will use disposables, he is still a bit put off by the CD's.

Re: Do you use CD exclusively?

I use CDs probably 95% of the time. Always have disposables on hand though and in the diaper bag. I'll usually take one extra CD when going out but then if DS needs more than that it's into the disposable. Also depends on the time of day and the poop situation... like if a big one is coming, I have to admit, I'd rather put him in a disposable if we're out. It takes us a few months to get through one bag. The only time DS has ever had a diaper rash was one day when we went for a day trip and used disposables and that experience made me a little leery of them.

Re: Do you use CD exclusively?

I just started using cloth with DS2.  I tried with DS1, but I started about the time he was showing signs of potty learning.  In my genious thought pattern, I figured cloth would help him feel wet.  I should have remembered that he was a boy and didn't much care.Smile [:)]

With DS2, I have environmental guilt which has turned into need-to-save-money.  I CD during the day and use sposies when I run out of covers--DS2 is a monster, frequent pooper--gotta love that BM!  I also use sposies when we go out.  The thought of lugging around soiled diapers isn't my idea of fun (no offense to those of you who do).

I've gotten so nutso with cloth that I just bought a bunch of diaper making supplies off Lexi.  This may be turning into a carrier-like addiction!  I say if you want to do cloth, do it whenever you feel like it.  It certainly doesn't have to be all or nothing.  And those big diaper boards are intimidating!

We cd full time except on vacations.  I don't have the guts to cd on vacation nor do I want to carry dirty diapers around while we are site seeing.
