I use a kecci mommybag, it can be carried 3 ways, backpack, shoulder bag and a messenger bag.  You can see them on Kecci.com and I have a friend in a moms group that sells them for $10 less, if you want I can provide her email to you!  I like it for a relatively inexpensive bag.  I have also heard great things about skiphop.
