    Help choosing a Mei Tai!!!!!

I just found out about Mei Tai's and cannot rest until I have one!!!  Stick out tongue [:P] I used a sling on and off, but never became addicted b/c it only worked well sometimes...depending on DS age, weight, mood... and for long periods it caused me shoulder and back pain...Angry [:@]
But now!!!! I have found teh Mei Tai...Big Smile [:D]

Enough about that.  I need the expertise of those of you who have experience with these carriers.  Help me decide!!!!!  Can any of you offer any insight into/between:

    1. Baby Hawk
    2. Jada Tai
    3. Kozy
    4. Doodlebug
    5. Happy Pouch

Thank you so much for helping me curb my obession and facilitate pain free carrying of my 25 lb toddler!  I'm 6 months pregnant and will be using the carrier for the new baby.  Until then, I need to corral this boy and throwing him on my back is my plan!

Of your list the only one I have used is the Kozy. I do really like my Kozy. If you are looking for something now Kozy is starting to be manufactored, but I think there is still a wait. If you want something now I would pick something else and maybe put your self on the Kozy list. Not to confuss you but, there are also some really great MT that you did not list. The Freehand is fabulous and would have long straps for a pregnant mom. Sachi also has long straps. I love them both. The Freehand and Sachi also have a narrower body which would be nice for a newborn.

Those are great MT's! The main thing to think about in choosing an MT is decide  how long you would want your body and whether you want padded straps. Some babies do not like to be completely inside a carrier (my DS is like that) Some like their arms out or some like to snuggle deep down in the carrier, it just depends on the baby.

Beth offered some really good MT's! Those are great-- FH (freehand)is similar to the BH (Very Similar) The FH and BH both have shorter bodies and come with padded in the shoulder straps. My experiences with the Doodlebug were that the body size was longer than the Kozy and FH and wide (somewhere around the Angelpack in width.  The straps were not padded (that may have changed) The Kozy is a BWing fave! It's body size is perfect for most mamas and babies.  The shoulders (which are padded) are super comfy! The happy pouch (which are you thinking of the happy Cruiser maybe?) has a very unique body size and has slight padding in the shoulders  It is about the size of Angelpack (maybe shorter) and may not be suitable for a tiny newborn but would work great for a toddler! An Angelpack is the longest and wided carrier that I personally know of and have tried. As far as the Jada I just do not know enough about that MT-- Sorry.

I also really like the freehand... Recently I got a sachi and I really like that if you like a taller body.
A MT is a wonderful choice that you can use a ton with your toddler and newborn.
I am getting a BH this week... I will let you know what I think!
