My thoughts on it: (thanks to Terri for hanging on to our PMs)
How are you liking your Babylonia? How do you think it compares to a Didy or Storch in texture, weave, softness, support and comfort?
I think that the Babylonia is not at all like the storches or the didys I have. It is lightweight and smooth whereas the didys I have are soft and dense feeling. It feels most like the Hoppediz I have BUT without the grip of the Hoppediz. The Babylonia is very silky feeling. It is wider than the the storches but I don't think as wide as the Hoppediz.
I'm thinking of buying one once the new colors come out. Do you like it?
It is nice... not the one I grab most but a nice change.
Is it as comfortable for long carries as a Storch or Didy?
I think that a wrap can be as comfortable as the ones you listed as long as it is tied right and is not guaze or an ellaroo ![]()
BUT it(babylonia) is thin, silky soft (almost as silky slippery as my Jonas was before I washed it BUT totally grippy) I love where I bought my Babylonia from-- http://www.stellaris.se totally rocks and it takes total control not to jump the gun and buy my Bebina from there-- they can not be topped for prices and shipping international! I think when the new colors come out I will sell the pink I have and go for a more gender neutral color. The babylonia is a tad more thicker than an Ellaroo-- just enough not to cause pressure points, KWIM? The main reasons I don't grab for it is (1) the color and (2) I like a grippier wrap.
I personally think that buying a wrap is the luck of the draw-- you either luck out or you don't. I bet if I ordered the same wrap again it would feel totally different. I mainly reach for my Jonas. I did get a Paul recently (with a hat to match) and I have yet to try it-- I really wanted to get a longer Jonas (DS and I both like the Jonas) BUT I thought that might be overkill and both wraps wou;ld not feel the same. It is so funny-- both the Jonas and Paul are jaquards but FEEL different-- Jonas is softer, crazy!
Sorry-- OT--- anyway I really think that you won't regret the Babylonia especially since you you like the easycare. I think that the Babylonia will be silkier than your easycare. Just a gut feeling I have. And you know, as I type this, I bet all the darker colors will feel different than the older colors of the Babylonias ![]()
