I want to know more about these wraps. Hemp and silk are my favorite fabrics. I have heard they are great for front carries, but not for back carries. If you have one, tell me more. I think they are georgeous.

I have one. To me it doesn't feel exactly like any silk or hemp I have ever felt. It does feel a bit silky to the touch and fairly smooth but not slippery at all. I have not tried mine for back carries. My baby is still pretty little and gets fussy on my back so at this point I'm using my "no fail" wovens for back carries until he gets a little older and then I play more. But I think the reason back carries might be tougher is that the fabric is so crinkly that it could be hard to spread well. I can't really see doing a great rucksack with it as it is not the widest to begin with and then it really crinkles and scrunches up a lot when worn. But, haven't tried yet. :)

The wrap is a little bit stretchier feeling than a Didy or other woven. But very supportive. I would say in front carries it's about as comfy as Didys, though a different feel, and easy to work with. Not finicky for me like the gauzes tend to be. I think it's pretty forgiving and easy to get right because of that stretchy almost bouncy quality. I'm not sure if I'm describing it well. Also when I talk about comfort, my baby is only 18 pounds, so my comparison could be very different a year from now.

I have the slate color and it's very subtle and pretty. Although since I saw Lexie's pics I kind of wish I had gone for the green. Both hers and mine look much, much prettier than the swatches on the site. Plus pics don't show off the fabric as well as IRL, I think. I tried to attach a pic but I guess I can't do attachments...I will load it up later. I don't want to put it in my album because it's not a great picture of me, lol.

I'd say it's in between a normal gm gauze wrap and a didymos. It's much thinner than a didymos, but not as thin as a gauze wrap. The fabric is nubby and textured, and it has a wonderful drape to it (makes pretty hanging tails), and makes small knots.
It's kinda slippery in back carries, so you have to make sure your baby has clothes on (instead of just a diaper).
I think it's more of an experienced wrapper's wrap. I'm by no means experienced, but i'm practicing with it everyday. It takes longer to get a perfect rucksack than say a storch or didy would.
The width also seems narrower, but that's due to the crinkle effect, and it makes it harder to do a rucksack. But I love the color, fabric, and the uniqueness....I'm soo glad i have one in my collection.
I consider this my 'fancy' wrap...makes me feel pretty like an oopa (silk) sling does.
It's also very cool. My sweaty baby and I don't overheat when we take walks in the 85 degree hawaiian weather.

Yes, thank you for the info. Just as I thought, no back carries with it. I have a big guy and he is 18 mo. Oh well I guess I need to have another baby.
