How do you deal with a restless nurser?

DD is 10 months and we have been nursing pretty well since the beginning. Just recently though she has become very restless while nursing. She stands up, turns over, arches her back, etc. My boobs are starting to feel like Laffy Taffy! I don't remember having this issue with ds, but he was just about weaned by this age. How do you deal with this issue? Is it just the age?  I'm pretty tempted to throw in the towel at this point. Any thoughts?

Some moms call this breastfeeding gymnastics. I like to call it Breastfeeding yoga. My ds does down dog almost everytime he nurses. He really only sits still when he is falling asleep during the nursing session. I have found rocking while nursing helps a little. My ds can't stop moving even to nurse.

This describes my daughter EXACTLY.  She gets more and more wired the longer we nurse sometimes.  It's crazy.  If she gets too wiggly, I just stop the nursing session and we try again later.  I don't like it when she tries to walk across the room with my nipple in her mouth.

We're having the same issues.  DS particularly likes to try and stand on his head while nursing. Don't know whether to Big Smile [:D] or Crying [:'(]

Sorry that is hard i know.  For us, when he starts pulling off and moving around, it sometimes works for me to hold his head there for a minute.  I hold the back of his head (not hard but firm) and say max, mommy says you nurse nicely or no more.  Granted this doesn't always work, but when it gets really bad, i take him off and put him beside me on the floor and say Sorry but when you want to nurse nicely mommy will let you have boobie.  It usually works well for us as after a couple times he realized gymnastics/yoga=no more boobie.  Good luck hope this helps.
