From birth to toddlerhood - pouches are probably the most popular carrier we sell due to the simplicity, affordability, and ease-of-use. Newborns are carried in the cradle carry position while older babies and toddlers will love to see the world in the kangaroo and hip carry position. Pouches are essential for popping baby in and out at home, for quick trips to the store, and best of all, folds up compactly into even a small diaper bag!

Ring Slings

The ring sling is a long piece of fabric with which is looped back and threaded through two rings sewn at one end, becoming a pouch with a tail. Ring slings are a staple in a babywearers wardrobe because it is completely adjustable, making for the perfect fit. The long tail is both beautiful and functional, and offers discreet nursing if needed.

Ring slings may be padded or unpadded. While newcomers to babywearing may only know of the unpadded, most experienced babywearers prefer the unpadded ring sling, or at the least, a lightly padded sling. Unpadded ring slings are less bulky, easier to adjust and has a more sleek, modern look. The newer, modern padded slings offer minimal padding for comfort while not sacrificing adjustability.

Wraps

By far the most comfortable baby carrier, but perhaps the most intimidating at first, the wrap is a long piece of fabric in which you tie around your body, offering the most comfort and versatility of all the baby carriers.

Wrap Comparisons

I divide the wraps into three kinds - but mostly wraps fall into either the stretchy or woven wrap category. Stretchy wraps are divine for newborns or babies, as they are so soft and heavenly to snuggle close to your baby with. You can tie a stretchy wrap on and leave it on throughout the day, popping your baby in and out.

As your baby gets over 17-20 pounds, you may find that your stretchy wrap doesn't offer enough support and you have to tie and retie. Woven wraps are the best investment in a baby carrier - you can use them from newborn all the way through all your babywearing years, even passing them on to your children in some cases. They offer the ultimate in wrap comfort and versatility, with so many carrying positions that it would be almost impossible to list.

Stretchy Wraps

Starting with the softest is the CuddlyWrap.

The Moby Wrap is a bestseller in our store, it is often considered the "gateway" to wraps, as it is the most affordable carrier we carry and is very well-known.

The Hug-a-bub has many loyal followers and offers a stylish look of two-toned colored wraps. They are one of the more supportive of our stretchy wraps.
