    3D ultra-sounds

WOW has anyone had one of these? They are truely amazing. We had an ultra sound at 24 weeks and at the Dr. office they now have the ability to go from 2D to 3D. I started crying, it was so much more real than 2D. I could see each finger. I have 2 really good pictures of his face.

That's awesome that your dr's office could do that for you.  We had one with my DD, but had to go to a place that does that specifically, not a dr's office.  I think I was right around the same time period in my pregnancy as you when I had it done.  It was AMAZING and worth what we had to pay to get it done!!!  We got a lot of pictures and they taped the whole thing so we have the whole u/s on DVD.  I watched it many, many times and cried!  It just blows me away that they can get such amazing pictures of babies now.  Once my DD was born I looked at those u/s pictures to see how much they really looked like her...and they did!  I was really happy that my DH and I did that because I believe it made us bond with her that much more before she actually joined us.  Lilypie Breastfeeding Ticker Lilypie 1st Birthday Ticker

Yes it is a boy. I had them check again, just to make sure. We need a good Norweign name. We have already used the 2 boy names I liked; Anders and Haakon.

    How fun!

I had the 3D U/S done with video, I guess they called it 4D. It was a place in Golden Valley that did it - Fetal Fotos.

Yep, Fetal Fotos in Atlanta is where we had ours done.  Sounds like we had the same thing as Angela did.

    Re: 3D ultra-sounds

My perinatologist was going to give us a FREE 3D/4D ultrasound because they needed to train in a new technician. My ds decided he didn't like the noise or light or something and flipped over (showed us his butt) and put his arm over his eyes. Poor little guy :( I was so bummed out!  I am hoping if we have another that we could have this done!

No ideas for names, we had a hard enough time coming up with the one my ds has. Our next will have to be a girl, or go nameless - lol!

    Re: 3D ultra-sounds

I had one with my last pregnancy but wasn't very lucky. My son has his face squished against the wall of the uterus and he looked deformed. I got pretty upset about it and though the doctor explained what was going on, and I fully understood, I couldn't get that face out of my head and wonder if he really was going to look like that. Fortunately this US was done at about 34 weeks (for medical reasons) so I didn't have to wait that long to see baby IRL.

I went to a different place here in MN. Something "on Grand". Anyway, it was an awesome experience. For 200 bucks you could have as many as 20 people come and they had 10 tv's so everyone got a great view. It looked like  a bedroom, not a clinic. Then for an hour they just let you see the baby. Whatever part we wanted...they would go to and we could just watch. And they gave us over 80 pictures and a video of all the guests we had and the whole experience. It was so cool. You can see EVERYTHING....
