Hello, I've just signed on and have yet to set myself up with an avatar etc...
I have a 6 1/2 month old son and have been wearing him since birth - especially since I found the recovery difficult and needed to support myself using railings, etc. and thus needed my hands...
Yes, I have a baby bjorn, which I have actually found useful for those quick run in's from the car to the market. My son's mostly been in the cuddly wrap which, had I known then what I know now from experience with baby wearing, I would not have bought. Mind you it was really nice for him when he was newborn as the material is nice and stretchy and soft and he was always in front anyway. Since then I've crocheted a sling and have a number of sarongs in various lengths that I use to back carry and to hip carry. I'm now looking to buy a mei tai as my son's getting bigger, squigglier and I live in a cold climate so it will be good to be able to have the space to bundle both of us up and still be able to fit him, without squashing him, into a carrier. I know there are babywearing jackets but I'd need a super warm one and that gets pretty costly!
I'm currently deciding between the babyhawk and the ellaroo mei tai (with headrests) - any imput is appreciated! The one complaint I have with the sarongs is that they dig into my shoulders. Does anyone know if either of these do?
