Hi there everyone, I am Amanda and I want to wear my third child Troy who is 3 months old. It seems with three kids demanding my attention the best way to give Troy the contact he needs it to wear him.
The snugli hurts my back and takes forever to get him in and out of.
I have a NoJo sling, but it digs in to my shoulder (rings) and he HATES being put into it.
I used a tube sling with my second child without much luck it killed my back when he was only 12 lbs.
Recently someone showed me a video of a lady demonstrating a front-wrap-cross and I saw how easy it was and how it distributed the weight and I was online searching out information and ordering fabric right away. Before that I had always thought a wrap was too complicated.
The site I consulted said that a lightweight gauze was ideal, but since I know NADA about fabric I ordered what appears to me a med weight or possibly even heavy weight gauze. Its great except at 46 inches wide its so thick in the end that its difficult to tie it with the little fabric left over (I am overweight but currently losing weight/inches.) The good news is that on our trial run just to see how we liked it my son LOVED it and it was very comfortable for both of us.
Is it ok for me to trim this type of material down to about 32-34 inches (before sewing the edges?) If not, what would you suggest? My husband will be sewing for me.
Thanks so much for your help!
