It seems the digital SLR cameras are becoming so super popular that more and more families own one. New Baby Sling arrivals at ATB

We are so psyched to have so many new product lines to play with!

First up, is the Beco Butterfly and Beco OBI. The Butterfly was launched this month and is an INSTANT hit. We sold out of Carnival immediately, but we still have Addison, Pony Express and Mia, but they're going fast, so be sure to snatch one up! The other new Beco item is the Obi. I just had the chance to try it with a baby tonight. I slipped it over my head, and then slid baby in. It's as easy as that! The Obi is one of the simplest, lightweight designs, the same benefits of a pouch. However, instead of 5-9 pouch sizes, there are only 2 Obi sizes, and you don't have to be exact! The Obi will launch on our new website next week, along with the Kid's Toy Becos.

We are very proud to bring on the Beco product line.

Next up is the relatively new Scootababy, a new Hip carrier. I'm a big ring sling gal, so I wasn't sure what to think, but I've heard rave reviews. I finally tried it out and WOW, is it COMFORTABLE!! I tried out other Hip carriers and wasn't too impressed, so the Scootababy shocked me with its comfort. The shoulder is a supportive Polartec fleece that is amazingly comfortable and breathable. No pressure points, just pure snuggly comfort. I am hooked and can't wait to recommend it to my friends and our customers.

Also one of our latest product offerings is the Bondolino by Hoppediz. All the benefits of a Mei Tai but the mainstream look. The waist strap is strong velcro, plus the shoulder straps come around and then tie around the waist as well. We have been eager to test this out more thoroughly, it works well with a 10 month old, but I do think it is a carrier mostly good for babies and small toddlers.

We love our wraps! We just got in a few different wraps.

From a family-owned business a few minutes away from us in Boulder, the Sleepy Wrap is taking the world by storm. I was hesitant to bring a new product on that I'd just heard of last year. In the meantime, friends had tried it out and I kee hearing about them, so I placed an order. Tested it out tonight, and wow, its supportive, snug, and soft! Different than the other stretchy wraps I've tried, and I love stretchy wraps. :) We've sent a few testers to some "babywearing" experts for more reviews and photos! Look for the Sleepy Wrap to launch on our site next week.

The Bundleboo wrap is a unique 10-in-1 baby wrap made of woven, non-stretch cotton. What sets it apart is the safety seat which features leg holes to place baby in for easier front and back carries! They have some beautiful signature Bundleboo prints, a print panel with a complementary wrap color. And of course the classic solid colors and a yummy organic... I think this will ease parents into the world of wrapping!

Lissi is a fellow babywearing vendor and friend of mine, and she entered the QuickBooks contest for startup money for a creative business idea... and she's made it to the TOP 5! For the rest of this month, she will need all our votes, comments, and help - for on January 31, the person with the most votes wins!

Her idea for Cafe and Play restaurant - is bringing healthy food in a kid-friendly atmosphere. I would love for this idea to thrive and make it to all cities around the states (or world), as my 3 year old loves eating at restaurants (and loves her veggies/healthy food luckily) but bores after about 20 minutes. Having an outlet for her to expend her energy in a safe, kid-friendly place would just rock.

Determining the winners

I received a few concerned emails regarding people joining with multiple emails just to vote for the same photo.

Here's my solution. We had these polls both here and on TBW (www.thebabywearer.com).

I don't think people on TBW would join just to vote, and that place has thousands and thousands of members anyway. So each of their votes counts for for a few more points per vote. As for our ATB community, all of our loyal members who've joined in the beginning up until the mere mention of this contest gets 10 points per vote. And on it goes, and absolutely everyone will get at least 1 point per vote, up to 10.

I think this is very fair and rewards those who've been with us in the beginning while accounting for all votes!

Hope to have the winners announced soon.

ATB $1000 Photo Contest - ready for nominations!

I spent the past two weeks looking through adorable baby sling photos, thank you all who have entered. Apologies for the delay, but the photos kept coming!

We are now ready for nominations! This will be an informal process from everyone, the most popular photos for certain categories (TBD) will be decided by the ATB team. We will then narrow down the choices for all the categories, and it will once again be open to a vote!

Comment on the ones you love (I opened up for anonymous comments for those who are not ATB members), ATB community members can log in and rate the best photos a rating of 5 stars! Please be kind.

The photos that get the most views, most comments and best ratings will be further examined for the final nominations, and then the vote will go back to you all!

Everyone who entered has at least one photo up for the contest. Alot of people submitted many photos, and I chose at least one to enter, based on the quality of the photo (high-res, showing off of carrier, etc...). Over 1000 photos were submitted, and I chose 885 to be in the official gallery.

Our first official family vacation since the birth of our daughter and business

This Saturday, we are heading for our very first family vacation (other than holiday family get-togethers) since the birth of our daughter! In fact, since I was on bedrest, probably the first vacation in 3 1/2 years. We'll be doing the usual Florida Orlando/Disney vacation with our 3 year old daughter Satori.

I must admit that I am tempted to buy a stroller for the trip, but also will definitely be packing a few baby slings. Satori is 3 years old, but still rather petite at barely 26 pounds. She loves to run, yet needs that snuggle/touching time, she's a very tactile person. So I'll bring a silk Sakura Bloom sling to turn the heads and work as a comfortable quick up/down carrier, and probably an ERGO Baby Carrier for back carries, as it has that handy backpack and front pack that come in handy when out and about. Probably try out the new Organic ERGO. Stay tuned for photos of our Florida trip!

Just an update for those of you waiting or stalking... :)

We just got a large order of Maya Wraps in. We have the retired prints and pouches all on clearance and will try our best to keep the popular Lightly Padded slings in stock!

ERGOs are rolling in every few days. Can't keep up with the demand, but we'll be focusing on these more now.

A very large order of DIDYMOS, including the silk wraps is due to hit Denver in a few days.

A big BabyHawk order is due to arrive soon, plus I have alot here I don't have on the site... Kozy Carriers should follow soon after that.

New P-slings arrive every few weeks, we can order anything, and I think the Bamboo slings are almost ready for us to order too. Remember, we offer a rebate on action shots if you order from us, if we don't already have a P-sling photo.

HUGE Baby Sling shipments in this week!

Our most popular product, the Moby Wrap has arrived in four huge boxes, an order of 100. We also placed another order of 100 to be shipped in next week of the backordered Moby Wrap UV in the popular Turquoise and NEW Sand! The Limited Edition Moby Wraps in Olive will be here too.

Also arriving this week are the super soft CuddyWraps, a big order of 50. CuddlyWraps are a Canadian stretchy wrap, comes with a DVD and nice packaging, great for baby shower gifts! These include the new Chocolate Brown color, and the relatively new Red, the ever-popular Black and Sage CuddlyWraps. We'll be getting the new color Brown up soon!

Hotslings, another top 5 product, arrived today and we've restocked every color/size that they currently have in stock. One of our favorite companies to work with, Hotslings are just HOT! We still have to get up the new Pool Pouches in the new (and old) colors. As a WAHM (work at home mom business), there's always a million things to do and not enough time.

We got a medium-sized Patapum Carrier shipment in this week, replenishing our Toddler Patapums, these go so fast that they're almost all sold out in North America. Our next huge order will be coming straight from the designer in Italy, featuring the new packaging and free waist pouches. Until then, just mention you'd like a free waist pouch when they arrive. We live in the Rocky Mountains and just love the Patapum for its two different sizes, sleek look and the ability to fold down when not in use.

Freshly arrived from the post office are the hugely-in demand Kozy Carrier Mei Tais. And the trendy slings that currently everyone is drooling over - the P-slings. I need to get these up on the site yet. Remember, we offer a 60 day trial on all carriers, and P-slings we offer a rebate if you send in a photo we can use in the store! Rebate depends on the quality of the photo.

Last but not least, I've been promising some new Oopa Slings to ooh and ah over, they will be up on the site soon! We've received two shipments and just need action shots, swatches, and such so everyone can appreciate their stunning beauty. Also in those shipments are a bunch of Do'rags and Bloomers!

Coming tomorrow is a large shipment of TaylorMade slings in all the versatile fabrics. Get your Water/Summer slings when they're restocked, these go fast! Boulder Babywearing Vendors get together!

On a spontaneous decision, we all met at Stacey of Karma Baby's house. Karen of Eesti Slings and myself, Angela of Attached to Baby.

Patapum 2.3

We've been getting tons of inquiries about the Patapum 2.3 version.

It is actually the same as 2.2, but it now comes with a free waist pack. They're also upgrading their packaging to be a bit fancier and have included instructions (we try to print off our own until it arrives). The packaging won't be ready yet, but we'll include the free waist pack!

Baby Patapums and Toddler Patapums

The new 2.2/2.3 Patapums roll down when not in use (like a fanny pack) which is ultra cool when your child wants to run around and you're not stuck wearing a silly carrier or don't have a bag to throw it in. The mesh sleeping hood also rolls down and compacts neatly, or you can remove it. The insides are softer and breathable. It comes with a chest belt for more comfort, and both waist straps adjust, so the waist extension is no longer needed.

Attached to Baby Community changes

We will be pruning down our community this week and this spring work on revamping the Community a bit. We've been a bit busy, but look forward to more fun and prizes this summer! This spring I'll be working on the community part of ATB (Attached to Baby) and sprucing it up. :)

Membership will be a tad more strict, and will require moderator approval. This will crack down on the people who register for spam purposes only (luckily we don't have much problem with that, but we do want to only have valid members here).
